In 19 May 2006, Lampros Psyrrakis participates in the project of the State Museum of Contemporary Art in Thessaloniki , curated by Professor Elias Mikoniatis entitled " Arrivals " . The exhibition took place in Koritsa and Tirana in Albania. Lampros Psyrrakis is depicted on a canvas observing a framed painting with colored ribbons. Next to that a painted work with ribbons is exposed unframed. Not far away a three-dimensional box wrapped with real colored ribbons is placed! So we have a painting that seems to be classic in style, an abstract modernistic painting next to the previous one, and somewhere beyond a three-dimensional object -package, wrapped in colored ribbons mimicing the two adjacent artworks. It is literally a "whimsical entanglements" , which is the title of the corresponding one man shows made in Athens and Thessaloniki by Lampros Psyrrakis. Ironic comment on conceptual art by J. Kosuth or postmodern reference to R. Magrite? It 's up to the viewer to decide.
